ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Major Events & Stakeholder Engagement and working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, this Sydney-based role will lead all corporate event related responsibilities from inception to execution, working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to deliver unique and memorable experiences for our guests.

Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Develop detailed event operating plans, event rundowns and event concepts for all corporate events, including but not limited to match day hospitality, VIP functions, networking, gala dinners, private functions, annual awards, and other special projects
  • Coordinate all pre-planning, including event brief, research, approvals, event design, venue hire, food and beverage, props and signage, travel arrangements, guest lists, RSVPs, speakers/master of ceremonies, gifts, and production management (audio-visual)
  • Effectively manage the event lifecycle with external vendors and venues on all event-related matters
  • Refine and manage various corporate event specific budgets as well as the yearly corporate event budgets with a view to cost efficiency
  • Manage the master stakeholder VIP database including invitations, RSVP, ticketing, and accreditation
  • Manage the tender process for event related contractors as well as subsequent onboarding and other negotiation as required

ABOUT YOU

Experience, Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Substantial knowledge and experience in the management and delivery of corporate events with a strong project management focus
  • Extensive experience working with venues and stakeholders on commercial hire terms and other agreements
  • Proven experience and ability in leading and growing a team of staff and contractors in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Strong communications (verbal & written) & relationship management skills
  • Strong project management disciplines inclusive of the ability to prioritise at peak times
  • Advanced IT knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)

Personal Attributes: 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal Football Australia departments and external stakeholders, external vendors, and agencies
  • Ability to take a strategic view on event planning and delivery whilst simultaneously exhibiting a strong attention to detail
  • Well organised and ability to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail, high standards of integrity, ability to represent Football Australia’s interests

Additional Requirements: 
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Working with children check (paid/ employee) or state-based equivalent 
  • Out of hours and weekend work as required
  • Domestic and international travel as required
