We are looking for our First Sales Hire in Australia & New Zealand!
You know how to sell and you've successfully taken an unknown product to the market before. You dream of building a team around you, but you are also happy to roll up your sleeves.

About Thematic:

We analyze customer feedback to help companies build better products and services. It's a SaaS platform, powered by world-class AI algorithms that are best in the market. By prioritizing what customers want, companies increase their customer metrics, and grow faster. Our customers are Heads of Research, Customer Insights and Product Operations people. They care deeply about improving Customer Experience.

We've been around since 2017 and are a fully-remote team. Our R&D happens in New Zealand, our sales focus has been mainly in the US. Some of the best brands in the world love Thematic, including LinkedIn and DoorDash. We have also a number of Australian brands on board, such as Atlassian, Qantas and City of Sydney. We need your skills to grow these relationships and expand business to other companies.

About this role:

Here's how we envisage your role... although it's just a start. Depending your success, your role can evolve quickly!

- Your territory will span the entire APAC region

- You will own a revenue number and you'll work on building your pipeline to hit that number.

- You will own the full sales cycle, at least initially: Prospecting, qualifying and closing outbound deals for Thematic. You'll create proposal and negotiate pricing.

- You will receive some inbound leads, but expect the bulk of the pipeline to come from outbound

- You'll run local personalized outbound campaigns, based on successes we've seen in the US

- You'll attend events and get warm intros to the right people - You'll qualify prospects using a consultative approach and will help build the business case

- You'll build relationship with our existing customers and help renew and expand usage

- You'll learn the product inside-out, but will bring in experienced product specialists and data scientists as needed

- Your customers will be supported by our excellent customer success team

Requirements

  • First things first, you have to be based in Sydney! This is where the bulk of our potential clients are and it will help you succeed.
  • You can demonstrate a proven track record of closing full-cycle deals.
  • You are an excellent communicator and know how to build rapport with people.
  • You have several years of B2B SaaS sales experience. You have been a business development manager and an account executive in the past.
  • You've sold before to buyers in Customer Experience, Insights, Market Research. You can speak our buyer's language who are data & insights driven.
  • You have a growth mindset. You know how to experiment and recognize where you are getting traction. You then double-down and execute the most successful strategy.
  • You have a hunter's mentality when it comes to sales, but you hate the phrase "selling ice to the eskimos". You want to add value to your customers in a genuine way.
  • You have an epic attention to detail. You make sure that your CRM is top notch
  • You Like being accountable for your own success, be "your own CEO"
Bonus points if you have a passion about AI with understanding both the opportunities and limitations.

You’ll be great in this role if you:
  • Provide strong and visible leadership through a period of rapid growth and change
  • Deliver ambitious growth targets from new and existing partners Strong focus on market share / revenue growth and long term partner success
  • Develop insights based sales strategies that drives innovative partner acquisition, retention and profitability
  • Champion new business and marketing opportunities within thematic
  • Develop and maintain senior relationships with new partners across key categories.
  • Work closely with people on the ground to enable long term partner success
  • Work with other functional areas to highlight issues, develop options for resolution and implement agreed solution for partners
  • Grow revenue through flawless execution and a deep focus on exceeding clients' expectations

  • You'll have a base salary of $130K-$160K per year (depending on level of experience)
