Courier/Delivery Driver

George Town Carriers is a locally owned and operated freighting business who, despite the George Town name now services all areas between Mowbray to Low head in northern Tasmania.

We are currently seeking full time and casual drivers for our vans to add to our ever growing business.

A bit about the job:

The delivery run starts in the morning at the St Leonards Depot and the delivery route covers suburbs between Launceston to Low Head including the Bell Bay industrial zone and then finishing back at St Leonards.

We transport all sorts of freight from small parcels for private customers to hefty pallets for large businesses. Each day is varied with a strong focus on meeting deadlines.

Hours:

For casuals the position will offer 1 – 3 days a week but may require extended hours during peak times. The ability to be on call would be a bonus.

We believe the weekends are for time off so the role is Monday to Fridays only.

Requirements:

Due to the nature of the job the ability to work on your own is essential however training will be provided to the successful applicants.

A reasonable level of fitness is required to complete the job due to manually loading and unloading freight as well as a manual Australian Class C drivers licence is required with confidence in driving vans.

Multitasking, communication skills as well as being able to meet deadlines while out on the road are all important aspects of this job.

Navigational skills with the ability to follow directions and instructions as well as a friendly attitude will go a long way in this role.

Wage:

Wage negotiable dependent on the applicant's experience.
