Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Head of the Creative Studio, the Creative Adviser will work closely with the Senior Creative Adviser to develop and deliver creative projects.

This role is responsible for assisting the Creative Studio team to deliver video, audio, photography, graphic design, motion design and other creative project services for the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA). They will ensure creative work is prioritised and completed to high standards and in line with key departmental priorities, and that deliverables are meeting stakeholder expectations, including adherence to established timelines.

The Creative Adviser provides expert communications advice and will be required to develop strong, collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal, and sometimes external, stakeholders.

They will employ a creative agency approach to brand management and creative workflow, effectively managing and balancing priority work, stakeholder needs, and the delivery of high-quality creative products and services.

Accountabilities:
  • Contribute to the development, delivery and evaluation of Creative Studio projects and activities including production of print, online, video, audio, and motion graphics materials.
  • Provide an account management approach to core service delivery and digital communications ensuring alignment to broader DH objectives.
  • Support the Senior Creative Adviser and broader Creative Studio team to deliver high quality projects on time and within budget, as well as assist with the ongoing management of the creative services asset library.
  • Provide creative services advice and work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure the delivery of effective creative communications that are of a high written and visual standard, and which comply with departmental and whole-of-Victorian Government guidelines.
  • Drive innovative and continuous improvement to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of communications services.
  • As necessary, work with suppliers and contractors and be accountable for the successful delivery of creative services products and projects in relation to standards, budgetary outcomes, stakeholder expectations and client needs.
  • Identify positive story opportunities and identify risks and issues that will be contentious and provide authoritative and expert advice on how to manage them.
  • Work collaboratively with other areas of the Communications branch to ensure the delivery of seamless and professional communications services for all areas of the department.
  • The Creative Adviser will also be responsible for:
  • providing production support and advice on Creative Studio projects
  • assisting brand and content asset libraries
  • maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and external providers
  • Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
