Curry Chef

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Curry Chef to join our culinary team. The Curry Chef will be responsible for preparing a variety of curry dishes, ensuring authenticity, flavor, and quality. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of curry cuisine, proficiency in spice blending, and the ability to create delicious and memorable dishes that meet our guests' expectations.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and cook a variety of curry dishes, including but not limited to chicken curry, lamb curry, vegetable curry, and seafood curry, using traditional recipes and techniques.
2. Blend and prepare spice mixes and curry pastes from scratch, ensuring the right balance of flavors and aromatics.
3. Ensure that all curry dishes are cooked to perfection, with tender meats, vibrant vegetables, and rich, flavorful sauces.
4. Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient food preparation and service, maintaining quality and consistency throughout service periods.
5. Monitor inventory levels of curry ingredients and spices, and communicate with the kitchen manager to place orders as needed.
6. Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times, including proper handling, storage, and cooking temperatures.
7. Train and mentor kitchen staff in curry cooking techniques, spice blending, and portion control.
8. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and update menu offerings, incorporating seasonal ingredients and guest feedback.
9. Assist in menu planning and recipe development, suggesting new curry dishes and variations to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
10. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the curry station and kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience working as a Curry Chef or in a similar role, preferably in a restaurant specializing in curry cuisine.
2. In-depth knowledge of curry cuisine, spices, and flavor profiles from various regions, including Indian, Thai, and other Asian cuisines.
3. Proficiency in spice blending and curry paste preparation, with the ability to create authentic and flavorful dishes.
4. Strong culinary skills, with the ability to cook meats, seafood, and vegetables to perfection.
5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
6. Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and management.
7. Attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences for guests.
