Your Role:
As a Custodial Nurse, you will be an integral part of a leading healthcare organisation, contributing to the well-being and rehabilitation of individuals in a custodial setting. Your responsibilities will include conducting health assessments, delivering clinical care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring the highest standards of healthcare within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive health assessments and develop personalised care plans.
- Deliver exceptional clinical care for acute and chronic health conditions.
- Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team for holistic patient care.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, coordinating with custodial staff.
- Provide health education and support to promote preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with regulations.
- Oversee medication management, ensuring compliance and monitoring for adverse effects.
- Identify and address mental health concerns, collaborating with specialists.
- Implement stringent infection control protocols to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
- Offer compassionate support during crisis situations.
About You:
- Minimum of 3 years in Australia as an RN.
- Previous experience in custodial or correctional healthcare settings is advantageous.
- Current and ongoing registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Proficient in general nursing practices, emergency care, and mental health support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations and guidelines.
