We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Customer Service Officer to joint there team on a 3-month contract basis. As a Customer Service Officer, you will be the first point of contact for residents, providing assistance, information, and support on various municipal services and inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming inquiries via phone, email, and in-person with professionalism and empathy.
- Assist in resolving customer issues and complaints, escalating complex matters to the appropriate departments when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and transactions in the Customer Service database.
- Respond to customer action requests, enquires and transactions in relation to services that Council provides in a professional, accurate and efficient manner, referring to existing Customer Services processes and other Council officers for clarification and further information as required.
- Assist customers with the compilation and lodgement of applications.
- Ability to use technology to ensure work efficiency, as well as to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Actively participate as a team member by assisting colleagues as necessary and support continual improvement of processes and systems that contribute to achieving best practice and improvement in the quality of Customer Services.
- Ensure personal presentation is professional at all times.
- Determine applicable fees for services requested in accordance with internal policies.
- Previous experience in a Customer Service role, preferably in a government or municipal setting.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals with tact and professionalism.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle challenging situations with patience and diplomacy.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and Customer Service software.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in Customer Service is an asset.
