About the opportunity
Based at our newly renovated VFA Head Officer front desk, the Customer Service Officer coordinates and delivers accurate, timely, consistent, and appropriate service to visitors and online queries.
Work with key staff across the Victorian Fisheries Authority, providing administrative support to the VFA Communications & Event teams.
Ideally suited to someone studying or recently graduated, this role gives you entry-level experience in Communications & Events.
About you
You're a highly motivated, creative team-player with excellent communication skills.
We value you for your social media skills and your confidence working with the public, online, on the phone, and face to face.
As the successful applicant you also have skills and/or aptitude for:
- Problem solving
- Digital & technical literacy
- Planning & organising
Your confident customer service skills might've come from any kind of work or life experience, paid or volunteer.. Think retail, food service, helpdesk, call-centres, events, or any work that requires great customer service.
Study in, or towards a communications, events or fisheries/agriculture-related qualification would be well regarded, but is not essential.

The hours
Hours will vary between 12- 20 hours per week. Shifts are from 10am-2pm, with flexibility available.
Occasional weekend shifts may be available to assist at public events.
Casual loading & penalty rates are applied in accordance with the VPS Enterprise Agreement 2020.
