Full-Time - Customer Service and Sales Assistant

We are a fast growing Canberra based company involved in the importation, distribution and retailing of musical equipment. We operate a successful eCommerce retail operation servicing the general public and trade customers. Fast ongoing growth means we now require a motivated full-time Customer Service and Sales Assistant to assist our team to handle customer enquiries via the phone, email, chat and within our Canberra showroom.
Launched in 2005, SWAMP has grown to become a leading Australian eCommerce business utilising modern technology to operate a highly systemised and automated business model. We are seeking a forward thinking, motivated person that is interested to work in this exciting and fast growing eCommerce industry. The successful applicant will work directly with the founder, owner and managing director of the business and will gain knowledge and training based on 15 years of hands-on eCommerce experience.
Being a musical equipment retailer, some knowledge of the sound equipment and musical instruments carried in our range is required for this position. Training will be provided to the successful applicant to fill in any gaps of knowledge on key areas and we will consider your own experience and specialist knowledge while planning the delegations of tasks within our team.
Description:
Proving prompt and courteous service on customer service matters;
- Live chat support on our website and managing the delegation of chat tasks to other staff members.
- Answering telephone calls relating to customer service matters including delivery problems and warranty issues.
- Manage the daily workflow for processing returned parcels. Liaise with the Customer Service manager to arrange for testing and decide on resolutions. Meet SLA expectations.
- Provide service to customers entering our retail showroom and delegating certain enquiries to other staff members.
- Reply to email/ticket inquiries, managing the delegation of ticket tasks to other staff members where appropriate. Meet SLA expectations.

- Live chat relating to sales. Including delegating tasks to other staff members when required.
- Answering telephone calls relating to sales enquiries, providing assistance where possible and identifying high value sale leads for delegation to the Sales Manager. Also considering the skills and knowledge of other team members for call forwarding when desired.
- Assist the Customer Service manager with the processing of returned parcels.
- Provide sales assistance to customers entering our retail showroom and delegating certain enquiries to other staff members.
Applicants should have a positive attitude and be able to provide courteous and polite customer service at all times. Communication with customers is important - being able to both listen to customer queries and provide relevant and accurate information to help reassure customers of our understanding of their concern or question and trust in our proposed solution.
Availability:
This position is available from the 8th October, 2022.
The applicant must be available weekdays between normal office hours of 9:30am and 5:30pm. Additional overtime hours paid at overtime rates, will be made available in busy periods which the applicant would be encouraged but not required to take.
Wage:
This position is for full time employment with 38 hours required to be worked each week on average. Wage payments are calculated on a per hour basis and all award standards and entitlements are met as a minimum. We are a big believer that people should be paid according to their effort, commitment and overall economic contribution to a business. The remuneration arrangement for this position is open to negotiation and it is our policy to provide wage incentives for employees to learn and grow and add value back to the business.
