Cyberspace Warfare Officer

Cyberspace enables all physical military domains (Air, Land, Sea and Space). The 5th Generation Air Force is critically dependant on its networks, data links and information for operational success. It is therefore imperative that Air Force’s information, systems and capabilities are protected from cyberspace attack.
This CW workforce consists of Officer (Cyberspace Warfare Officer) and General Entry (Cyberspace Warfare Analyst) employment categories.
As a Cyberspace Warfare Officer (CWO), you will perform a variety of technical and leadership roles. You can expect to lead small tactical CW teams conducting a variety of missions within the vast expanses of Air Force’s operational and strategic information systems supporting Air Force operations.
Through the use of highly advanced information and communications technology (ICT), the CW workforce plans, develops, integrates, and employs Cyberspace Warfare techniques in contribution to Information Superiority in a contested cyberspace environment. Specifically, the CW workforce achieves this through the following functions:
Incident Response – Tasks associated with the identification, forensic analysis and remediation of potentially compromised Air Force and Joint networks and platforms.
Discovery and Counter-Infiltration – Tasks associated with the discovery of sophisticated adversaries, and the development of technical counter-measure options, to inhibit their behaviour within Air Force and Joint networks and platforms.
Cyberspace operations planning – Tasks associated with the conduct of deliberate and immediate planning, integration, and coordination of cyberspace operations into air operations.
Threat Emulation – Tasks associated with the simulation of cyberspace threat tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) to develop and maintain the requisite technical mastery of the CW workforce.
