As a Data Analyst in RSHQ, you will play a key role in providing data analysis, modelling, insights and solutions to help inform and improve safety and health outcomes for workers in the Queensland resources sector.

- Solutions Focussed - Makes recommendations based on thorough analysis and consideration of options.
- Stakeholder engagement - Proactively engages with clients and key stakeholders to understand their specific needs and tailors their approach to suit key stakeholder requirements.
- Personal ownership - Organises own work activities and determines priorities considering impact on others.
- Technology and systems -Operational databases, Power BI, Python and SharePoint.
- Project Management - Able to work with others to plan and deliver timely changes to systems and processes.
- Possess strong technical and mathematical abilities such as machine learning, statistical modelling, and big data, and as well as advanced programming skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills - A great storyteller able to break down complex findings and present them from a business perspective.
- Intermediate to advanced SQL & Excel skills
- Experience with one or more data visualisation tools like Power BI
- Translating insights into compelling visualisations - being able to tell a story with data
- Ability to apply statistical concepts to perform descriptive analytics
- Critically developing, evaluating, and deploying predictive models
- Advanced experience applying Python and R (or similar) to solve data science problems
- Experience working with data visualization tools, primarily Microsoft Power BI, to build
- interactive reports and complex dashboards for different target audiences.
Our ideal candidate will be able to commence in the role in February 2023.
While RSHQ supports flexible work practices, the role is based in the Brisbane CBD and our ideal candidate is someone who can attend this location on a regular basis.
