Data Center Migration Engineer/Tech Lead

We are partnering with one of Australia's key Technology organisations who are currently in the process of bringing onboard a number of Infrastructure Specialists to work on a large Data Center Migration project. They are currently looking to recruit a Data Center Migration Engineer/Tech Lead to work on a Data Center Migration.The ideal candidates would have had previous experience working on Data Center Migration Projects preferably with migration of workloads from Hyper-V to VMWare.The Data Center Migration Engineer/Tech Lead - DC Migration will be a member of the IT Operations Team and will be responsible for the install, build and configuration of our new Infrastructure Platform and the migration of all Infrastructure Systems, applications and services from our current Primary Datacenter to our clients new Datacenter.About the role:You will be involved in:

• You will be dedicated to the Datacentre migration project where you will be required to install and configure the x86 platform infrastructure, perform the migrations of VMs, applications and infrastructure services between Datacentres and perform functional and DR testing as required.
• You must have previous experience with Datacentre migrations preferably with converting VMs from Hyper-V to VMWare, understand the challenges that are presented with such migrations and have proven experience overcoming issues during migrations.
• This role requires someone who has proven track record deploying, managing, and supporting x86 infrastructure including Lenovo Servers, Nutanix, VMWare, Windows Server, Active Directory, Okta, Exchange, Backup and Restore technologies such as EMC Networker as well as the monitoring systems associated with these technologies.
• The ideal candidate will have strong automation and scripting abilities as well as a proven experience in thoroughly documenting processes and procedures that can be re-used by others.
• There will be afterhours responsibilities as part of this role.

The ideal candidate:To be successful, you would have the following:VMWare and Microsoft Certified Engineer.Bachelor's Degree in computer science/Engineering, or other relevant industry qualifications.5-7+ years' experience working in a similar Data Center Migration Engineer/Tech Lead roles within Large IT corporate environments across the Financial Services industry.Proven experience designing, deploying, managing, and supporting on-premises infrastructure platforms including Nutanix, VMware & Microsoft Technologies such as Terminal Servers, PKI Infrastructure, Exchange & Active Directory, with a security focused approach.Experience with Datacentre migration planning and execution.Experience with SolarWinds deployment and configuration.Experience with developing complex PowerShell scriptsSolid understanding of core networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls.Desirable to have experience with Event and notification platforms such as SEQ, Splunk.Ability to clearly articulate issues and solutions to both engineers and management, provide clear options and recommendations.For any further questions or information, please contact Meg Geronimo via and quote job #262292To apply please click the 'Apply Now' button.Diversity and inclusion are strongly supported at Peoplebank.
