Our QLD State Government client is looking for a Data Migration Specialist to assist in the end-to-end transformation from a legacy SQL system to a D365 environment. While the project is in its initiation stage, we are seeking someone who can work through all phases of software development until hypercare and knowledge transfer. The products are being negotiated through with owners but at this stage a Portal and CRM are confirmed as a deliverable. Having understood on D365 or related archival systems and previous experience in government is always an advantage.
Key responsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define and communicate Data migration requirements.
Conduct data profiling, analysis, and remediation of data quality issues for in-scope datasets.
Develop testable Data migration user stories based on technical specifications and business requirements.
Manage source-to-target data mappings, create mappings, and document complex transformation rules.
Contribute to the development of Data migration plans, including risk management, milestones, and quality assurance.
Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proven experience in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and straight SQL
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Data migration specialist working specifically with migrating data from legacy SQL legacy system to D365.
Experience in developing & implementing ETL solutions using Oracle, Microsoft SQL, and any other Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) databases.
Experience in creating and maintaining source to target mapping, transformation rules, loading methodology, error and exception reporting and implementation documents to support the ETL processes required to refresh the target database or data mart via multiple sources.
Exceptional SQL Scripting, data management and data analysis skills including the use of SSIS integration tools.
Extensive experience using Azure Data Factory
Previous experience working with extremely large amounts of data in a variety of formats and structures.
Expertise in programming languages such as SQL, Java, and Python
Sound understanding of Database design development & Data mining techniques
Expert level of problem solving and logical thinking
- Initial contract up till June 30th 2024 with possible extension available
