About the role:
We are looking for a Data Tester to work with us on this journey to transform the technology landscape of our business. Our ground-breaking tech is just one of the many things that inspires our team. This is an exciting time and if you enjoy a start-up culture, then keep reading.
- Design and implement a Testing Framework for the Data Platform
- Design and build an Automation Test Framework for the Data Ingestion component utilising the metadata driven config processes
- Design and build a Test Framework for the Data Curation component to enable testing of Enterprise Data Models and Business Access Layers
- Integration of Data Test Frameworks with Data Platform Orchestration Framework
- Execute Data pipelines using scheduling capabilities - AWS (or equivalent), Databricks, Control M, Active Batch etc
- Conduct reviews of test plans, test cases, and prepare test results.
- Create test plan and test scripts where automation is not a feasible option
- Test execution for User Acceptance, Functional and Regression test cases across all layers of Data Platform
- Effectively communicate testing activities and findings in oral and written formats.
- Work with IT teams, business analysts, data engineering & analytics teams to understand data consumers need.
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree qualified in Computer Science, IT or a relevant discipline
- Hands on experience in building Test Automation Framework for Data Platform
- 2 years' experience in a similar role, a minimum of 5+ years' experience in Data space
- Experience of working on Modern Cloud Data Platforms is highly desirable
- Understanding of end-to-end Data & Insights life cycle is a must
- Proficient in using Databricks notebooks
- Proficient with PySpark, Python SQL and shell script
- Proficient in data profiling, analysis and validation activities
- Good understanding of Dimensional Data Modelling using Star and Snowflake
- Good understanding of Data Lake architecture - Source (Persistent) Data Layer, Unified Data Layer and Business Access Layer
- Skilled in understanding the data requirements & solution designs
- Broader Data Solution Design & Build skill is preferred
- Highly effective planning, organisational and personal time management skills.
