Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing
To provide assistance to the clinician to deliver a high standard of general oral health to eligible patients at facilities across Western Sydney Local Health District predominately in a mobile dental van setting or with use of portable dental equipment visiting schools and other external locations including hospitals / residential homes, domiciliary sites.
Please note this position may also include rostering to fixed clinics in WSLHD Oral Health Facilities.
This position is a Monday to Friday day shift roster, 38 hours a week. Additional clinics may operate on Saturdays.

Essential Criteria:
Qualification: Certificate IV in Dental Assisting (Oral Health Promotion and/or Radiography) or recognised equivalent/current enrollment in the course.
Selection Criteria: * Recent, adequate experience as a Dental Assistant across a range of dental specialties
- Ability to assist the clinician in a four-handed environment, with a variety of dental procedures providing specialist or specialised care. Demonstrated proficiency and accuracy in dental charting with good computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to perform effective infection control procedures in all aspects of Dental Assisting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proven ability to liaise with a wide range of individuals.
- The ability to work in a large, multidisciplinary team, and be able to liaise effectively with a range of individuals including fellow health care workers and the general public.
- Excellent organisational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
- Hold a Certificate IV Dental Assisting Oral Health Promotion or Certificate IV Dental Assisting Dental Radiography.
- Hold a current Class C Licence and willing to take shared responsibility for safe driving of various fleet vehicles between locations in Western Sydney and back to the base location. This may include occasional operation of a 4.5 tonne Mobile Dental Van (Class C licence compatible).
