Working in partnership with the NSW Government, the Parklife Metro consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.

Comprising Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens and Webuild, the private sector partners are looking to build their metro rail expertise to deliver this city-shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership model and will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney.

Siemens, as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to hire a Deputy Project Director to work within Siemens Mobility team, based in our Sydney office.

The Deputy Project Director is responsible for the timely and cost-effective delivery of the rolling stock and rail systems scope in close cooperation with our worldwide engineering and manufacturing facilities, as well as deputising for the Project Director.

The key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Deliver the design, products, systems, and sub-systems on time and in line with commercial and technical internal requirements and customer expectations, respecting the contract requirements
  • To ensure adequate coordination with and across the Siemens rolling stock and rail systems business units, supporting overall integration of the wider project
  • Manage the delivery schedule and reporting requirements
  • Develop measures for effective coordination with the partners, customer, and key technical stakeholders
  • Participate and support for variation orders or contractual changes along with the Project Director
  • Overall coordination of site-based installation and testing and commissioning of rolling stock and rail systems activities

  • You will be competent in stakeholder management and will represent Siemens Mobility to consortium partners, internally towards the Company, and externally to the customer when the Project Director is unavailable.
  • You are an experienced leader, with a successful background in large scale infrastructure or railway projects as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager.
  • Proficient in the management of delivery schedules, risk management, earned value methodologies with extensive knowledge in applying these in day-to-day project business
  • Strong track record in ensuring deliverables are completed on time
  • Broad knowledge of effective cost and quality management
  • You will have a commercial contract sense and a customer service mindset.
  • Excellent leadership skills, a team player, able to work in a complex dynamic environment under pressure
