Dermatology Research Nurse Coordinator

  • Part Time opportunity working 64 hours per fortnight
  • Classification depending on previous clinical trials experience
  • Up to $12k tax free earnings via Salary Packaging
  • Work as part of a team conducting single-centre and multi-centre research
The Dermatology Research Unit at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is one of the major Dermatology clinical trial centres in Australia. It is part of RMH Dermatology, the tertiary referral centre for North-Western Melbourne and rural Victoria. We are currently running over 20 clinical trials for inflammatory and autoimmune skin disease as well as non-melanoma skin cancers. The team includes Head of Research A/Prof Gayle Ross, senior Dermatologist Principal Investigators, Research Nurses, Doctors (Clinical and Trial Fellows) and admin staff.
Your new role
  • The Registered Nurse occupying this position will work as part of a team conducting single-centre and multi-centre research.
  • The team at the RMH includes Associate Professor Ross, Head of Clinical research, Principal Investigators, Research Nurse, Clinical and Trials Fellows, a Research Office Admin Manager and works closely with the team of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Office for Research.
  • Our research group collaborates with other centres in Australia and overseas in multi-centre research projects.
  • Be involved in all aspects of clinical trial activity, including screening and recruitment of participants, efficiently organising patient visits and admissions, taking pathology samples and other necessary investigations as per trial protocol, managing participant databases and preparing relevant Ethics submission and paperwork.
About you
  • Highly developed computer-literacy and ability to work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge of research principals, methodologies and processes
  • High level of reliability and professional conduct
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and how a clinical trial study operates
  • Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills
  • Extensive experience in venepuncture
  • Demonstrated provision of high quality patient care
