The position
This role will work within the RES Australia New Opportunities team, with responsibility for the identification of new wind and solar projects and managing their development through the early development phases. Day to day activity will involve project site identification, screening and selection, design, planning and environmental assessment.
Responsible for site identification within specified areas.
Managing negotiations with multiple landowners throughout Australia.
Deliver projects through feasibility and into the development portfolio.
Collaborate across small project teams including development, engineering, technical, grid, legal and commercial within RES.
Co-operate with international business units to draw on wider company expertise.
Mentoring and managing junior members of the team as required
Key Accountabilities
- Site identification using GIS for wind, solar, BESS and hydrogen projects
- Manage relationships with multiple landowners on several projects.
- Build relationships and negotiate Exclusivity Agreements with landowners.
- Undertake environmental and planning assessments with the use of external consultants where necessary.
- Manage due diligence on potential project acquisitions.
- Planning and co-ordinating internal resources and external consultancy to deliver projects through feasibility and into the development portfolio.
- Work in accordance with RES HSQE procedures and relevant H&S legislation.
- Travel throughout Australia on a regular basis will be essential with substantial driving required.
- Act as an exemplary role model to encourage the avoidance of risk-taking behaviours across the business and provide the personal commitment never to “risk it”.
