We're looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer with proven experience of solving complex problems, who thrives working as part of a team to push boundaries and is passionate about leveraging technology to produce world-class outcomes for critical federal government organisations.
The DevOps Engineer key requirements & responsibilities:
- Advising project on appropriate DevOps strategies based on their unique business needs.
- Creating and managing the roadmap and implementation of DevOps according to business needs.
- Design intelligent infrastructures using cloud and/or container-based platforms.
- Design, implement and manage CI/CD and configuration management.
- Handle code deployments in all environments.
- RHEL and Azure skills are very welcome.
- Delivering high level designs using industry standard methodologies to articulate complex tasks to business and technical teams.
- Provide implementation guidance based on best practices to the team throughout the life cycle of the project.
- Cost management, security, and monitoring to ensure the solutions meet business requirements.
- Ensure application performance and availability using application performance monitoring tools.
- 10+ years of combined experience in application management, development, and DevOps.
- Proven ability to mentor and influence team members and to provide thought leadership within the engineering team.
- Deep knowledge of version control, automation, IaaS, CI/CD, configuration management, and monitoring of applications.
- Experience using DevOps tooling such as GitLab, Antifactory, Ansible and Terraform.
- Software delivery lifecycle process optimization.
- Ability to develop and improve operational practices and procedures (JIRA, Confluence).
- Awareness of Agile, Scrum and Kanban concepts.
- Strong Python development skills.
- Experience with creating solutions, estimations, and sizing.
- Good knowledge of cloud-based providers.
- Up to date with the state-of-the-art tools and integrations.
- Excellent communications and client facing skills.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities through prior experience working with senior management to find solutions for customers and leading teams.
- Demonstrated ability to identify technology gaps in current capabilities and processes.
- NV2 clearance is a minimum requirement for this environment
