About the opportunity
Based within the Enterprise Solutions team, the DevOps Systems Engineer will be responsible for planning and developing scalable software solutions. Your main duties will include managing software deployments, work collaboratively with Adobe Managed Services to modernise our AEM infrastructure with the goal of adopting AEM Cloud Manager for all code bases, develop IAC (Infrastructure as Code) using the AWS CDK, deploying services like ECS/Lambda/EFS that complement our Operational practice.
Furthermore, you will work collaboratively within the team of Java and Frontend developers to improve their Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and make them more robust, work collaboratively within the greater ICT department, implementing and adopting DevSecOps tooling and practices and you also implement automated testing frameworks and ensure the effectiveness of deployment pipelines.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • security first, programmatically call secrets (SSH Keys/API Keys/Passwords) from AWS SSM or Secrets manager
  • experience with build tools like Maven and Webpack
  • experience with tools like Docker, AWS ECS, Git, SSH
  • the ability to design and develop solutions using AWS Serverless technologies and other IAC using AWS-CDK (Typescript)
  • develop Jenkins pipelines in groovy/bash/python
  • experience with Adobe Experience Manager and Cloud Manager
  • proactively improve system operations by proposing and putting in place technical solutions and/or processes that increase supportability, reliability, security, and performance
  • delivery of QA and improvements to next generation digital infrastructure to facilitate its’ use throughout the University of Sydney and partner organisations
  • monitor and diagnose faults in complex systems including hardware, OS, software and scalability issues
About you
  • advanced computer skills, including storing research data appropriately in databases and/or statistical analysis programs, and system design
  • demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work of self and others, sometimes under pressure, with competing priorities and sometimes limited supervision
  • demonstrated skills in troubleshooting within a large and complex ICT environments
  • keen attention to detail and awareness of issues related to dealing with commercially sensitive or confidential information
  • experience in configuration management tools and associated source code version management and review systems.
  • demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work of self and others, sometimes under pressure, with competing priorities and sometimes limited supervision:
  • collaborative work with multiple teams to optimise CI/CD pipelines used by Java developers and frontend Developers
  • integrate DevSecOps tooling provisioned by ICT (SonarQube/DataDog/etc...) into our CI/CD pipeline by consuming either the products REST API our Jenkins Plugins
  • demonstrated skills in troubleshooting within a large and complex ICT environments:
  • a solid understanding of AWS networking services like, NAT's/VPCs/ELBs
