Positions are currently available for a qualified radiographer to join the Medical Imaging Department at Sutherland Hospital. First Year graduates would be considered. Situated in the Sutherland Shire you are close to the sand & surf of the Cronulla beaches you would be joining a dynamic team who work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide imaging services for our community.
Where you'll be working
The Sutherland Hospital Medical Imaging Department provides a diverse range of modalities including general radiography, CT, Ultrasound, fluoroscopy and MRI. Future expansion includes the commissioning of a hybrid angiography suite located within the operating theatres.
What you'll be doing

To perform medical imaging procedures and be responsible for the production and accurate archiving of diagnostic images under the direction of department and section managers;
- To ensure the safety of patients and provide high quality patient care.
- To work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a 24/7 rotating roster with strong and effective communication skills;
- To work with independent initiative, undertake continuing professional development and maintain competency in all clinical tasks.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Selection Criteria * Hold a degree in Medical Radiation Science or equivalent
- Hold a NSW EPA Radiation Licence to operate radiation apparatus and registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner with AHPRA
- Demonstrated ability and experience to perform radiographic examinations in a wide range of modality areas including general, theatre, mobiles
- Willingness to participate in a rotating 24/7 roster and on call as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with experience or knowledge in utilising health related computer applications
- Ability to work with a team and independently with the ability to organise workload to facilitate high patient throughput
- A knowledge of WHS and radiation protection practices
- Proven ability to work accurately and pay attention to detail
