SeaLink North Queensland operates out of Townsville, North Queensland, and is proudly Australian-owned and operated. With 4 vessels and over 70 staff SeaLink QLD is a significant transport and tour operator in the region, operating daily 17 daily services to beautiful Magnetic Island and 6 services a week to Palm Island, an indigenous community 1.45 hours from Townsville. The tourism charter section of our business continues to grow and is performing strongly. About You
Strong work ethics and 'Can Do' Attitude
Able to perform in a team environment and work under pressure
Excellent communication skills, able to effectively liaise with internal stakeholders and contractors
Good troubleshooting skills
Able to work flexible hours
These attributes will be complimented by experience and skills in the following areas:
Diesel Fitter qualifications
Marine field hand-on experience preferred
Solid mechanical background with Caterpillar engine experience preferred
Knowledge of health & safety obligations
Manual drivers license

About the role
In this role, you will be based in our on-shore workshop and carry out scheduled and breakdown maintenance on vessels and other company assets when and as directed by the Maintenance Manager. You will conduct regular inspections and maintenance on plants and machinery. Clear communication, physical fitness, and the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines are paramount in this role. Random drug and alcohol tests are carried out regularly. Ordinary working days are Monday to Friday full-time hours, however, this role may require emergency maintenance to be performed outside of ordinary working hours and the role is required to participate in a weekend duty phone roster.
