About the role
Are you a creative, innovative and skilled designer? Do you have a passion for digital engagement?
We are looking for a Marketing and Promotions Officer (Digital) to co-ordinate and support library promotions and marketing across the City of Ryde Libraries. The position is located in the Library at Top Ryde but will work with Council’s Communications team to create and update innovative, high quality graphic design solutions for web and print to increase the awareness and community’s engagement with our programs, collections and services.
The successful applicant will have a solid understanding of communicating for a diverse community as well as experience with social media and digital marketing. With strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of different communication channels, the Marketing and Promotions Officer (Digital) will be a key team member in facilitating effective marketing to the community.
Salary: $75,684.78 to $87,037.50 (pro-rata) plus superannuation (dependent on skills and experience)
Key responsibilities
- Deliver promotional and marketing materials for the Library to increase awareness of the full range of services, collections, programs and initiatives for a diverse community, and associated administrative tasks
- To work with Council’s Communications team to create and update innovative, high quality graphic design solutions for web and print
- To prepare, review and upload visual content for Council’s websites ensuring alignment with Council's visual and written style guides
- To proactively seek new initiatives to improve City of Ryde Libraries’ online presence
Key requirements
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in Graphic Design, Web Design, Multimedia, Communications or relevant field with experience working in a similar role
- Experience creating and managing content for digital and print publications
- Experience in website maintenance
- Experience in social media marketing
- Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator
- Advanced skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of website content management systems
- High-level written and verbal communication skills with excellent website writing and editing skills for online audiences, including the ability to apply corporate style and use plain English
- An understanding of current trends in design, and an ability to adapt and learn new technologies
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current driver’s licence
