We have an exciting opportunity for a digital marketing officer to join the World Science Festival Brisbane (WSFB) marketing team. Based in Queensland Museum at South Bank, the Digital Marketing Officer WSFB develops and curates content, schedules content, monitors and identifies promotional opportunities and tactics to support WSFB Statewide. The role contributes to the management of Museum's online and digital reputation and will also assist in publishing of the World Science Festival Brisbane websites. This is a fast-paced and diverse role in a fantastic and fun team.

The Digital Marketing Officer, World Science Festival Brisbane will:

  • Manage the execution of the World Science Festival social media, web and digital activity including co-planning, sourcing, copywriting, uploading and moderating of content in close consultation with the media and marketing teams.
  • Coordinate and implement the network and) social media campaigns across multiple platforms. You will be comfortable using tools such as Google analytics, Sprout Social, Meltwater, Facebook Insights and ads manager, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, click dimensions, various CMS including Wordpress, Sharepoint and Sitecore.
  • Write website, eDM, blogs and social media content and help grow the museum's digital and social assets, drive the day-to-day delivery of online and social media outcomes and maintain the accuracy and currency of the museum and WSFB website content.
  • Compose and deliver timely and regular reporting on social media activity and use data insights to improve social and digital channels.
  • Identify any emerging or potential online issues, provide timely communication advice to the Head of Marketing and respond to any issues, ensuring high quality, consistent and timely messaging.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with staff and external clients, liaise with designers, and internal and external suppliers to develop creative and effective marketing and promotional materials.
  • Record, track and analyse social and digital engagement, monitors and reports on social media coverage.
  • Participate in after-hours on call roster for social media, events, incident and emergency communication.
  • Comply with QMN policies, procedures and appropriate legislation including a demonstrated commitment to creating a child safe and youth friendly learning environment.
  • Contribute to the safety culture of QMN by reporting all incidents and hazards and ensuring work is undertaken in the safest way possible, following all QMN WHS policies and/or procedures and guidelines relevant to the job.
Tertiary qualifications are not required for this role. However, a bachelor's degree in communication, digital media or business and/or related experience will be highly regarded. The following attributes will be highly desirable.
  • Previous experience creating content using a variety of CMS (particularly WordPress, Sharepoint and Sitecore) in delivering effective social media campaigns would be highly regarded.
  • Previous experience using social media management tools (Sprout Social and Meltwater).
  • Experience in the delivery of digital communication and e-commerce.
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of museum, arts, science, festivals, or related industries.
  • Current Queensland Working with Children Card (Blue Card)
