Job description

Our Story

At WooliesX, we’re here to create better everyday experiences for our customers. In the big picture, and the fine detail. In moments big and small. We’re an innovative business that brings together the brightest minds in e-commerce, technology, media and data to transform the way people live and shop.

WooliesX has grown significantly in scale, breadth & complexity in the last 3 years and plays a vital role in the continual development and growth of the Woolworths Group Ecosystem. As this ecosystem grows, there is also a need for the connections between its component parts to strengthen and grow.

The Commercial Practice in WooliesX has responsibility for supporting the delivery of great commercial outcomes across WooliesX. Fundamental to this is creating and cultivating relationships within and between the WooliesX platform tribes and how these tribes interface with the Supermarkets Commercial team. This involves collaborating with the commercial teams and becoming “trusted experts” on how to activate digital initiatives to drive smart growth while adopting and sharing commercially astute principles and ways of working.

The position

Our Digital Range & Space Specialists are responsible for creating specific planograms, product range strategies & layouts to support the end-to-end delivery of the eCom merchandise annual operating plan in our eCom Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs). You will coordinate all communications of layout changes to our Customer Fulfilment Centre teams to ensure we continue to offer customers the right range for the right proposition; all whilst driving sales & profit.

You will work within the B2C eCommerce Tribe and play an active role with the Range & Space Squad whilst acting as a subject matter expert across other Tribes/Squads across WooliesX/wider Group support functions. You will report to the Commercial Practice and form part of the Range & Space Chapter to build your skills and focus on your professional development.

Key responsibilities also include:

  • Execute the Core Range & Merchandising strategy in line with the Category Development Schedule (CDS)
  • Manage and own the New & Deleted Lines process
  • Build Range Visibility across key customer propositions
  • Support and work in line with our Agile Structure

About you

This role is ideal for a proactive & analytically-minded Space/Range Planner who is passionate about online & eCommerce and looking for their next move. This role will allow you to strengthen your senior stakeholder management skills.

To succeed, you will have the following:

  • You must be methodical, highly numerate and a disciplined operator who can manage multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders.
  • You have a good understanding of Range & Assortment, Category Management and Space Managemen
  • You are proactive & able to identify gaps and convert these into opportunities to drive growth
  • You remain calm under pressure and have the ability to challenge the status quo and existing assumptions in order to promote innovative thinking and new solutions.
  • You demonstrate the ability to influence, establish and maintain strong relationships
