How you'll make a difference:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Western Health Services and Aged Care, the Director Aged Care will play a critical leadership role in Aged Care operations and reform. The Director Aged Care is responsible for performance and program management of Public Sector Residential Aged Care Services (PSRACS), Aged Care assessment as well as policy to improve care for Older Victorians. The role will lead on policy directions and advice, including on the impacts of Commonwealth reforms to PSRACS and Aged Care assessment, funding and financing advice, management of the operational requirements and best practice models of care.
This role develops and implements projects and initiatives to support safe and high-quality care and service delivery in PSRACS and responds to system wide or sector specific Aged Care issues in areas of identified need, strengthening the delivery of care for older persons in Victoria.
The role includes leadership of policy related to the care of older people, including the management of the personal alert and aids and equipment program. The role also supports strengthening of the care delivery platform in particular the NDIS interface with health.
The Director will work to deliver on priority government initiatives including supporting interjurisdictional work and national strategic priorities and will drive reform and system improvements that achieve immediate impacts as well as initiating long term change agendas and system-level responses.
The Director will ensure effective links across teams in the unit, branch, division and department to support delivery of these key initiatives. The Director will also develop and maintain strong relationships with sector partners, other Victorian Government departments and interjurisdictional agencies.
The successful applicant will demonstrate thought leadership and an ability to influence others to lead and deliver change in complex environments and improve outcomes for Victorians.
