The Director, Blue Card Projects will lead a small temporary project team responsible for implementing reforms to Queensland’s Working with Children Check system, also known as the blue card system. The reforms relate to recommendations made by the Queensland Family and Child Commission and the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to child Sexual Abuse. These recommendations involve significant legislative, operational and technical changes to further strengthen and streamline the blue card system, continue to build cultural capability and ensure that the system is updated to manage emerging risks and issues.

This role provides a unique opportunity to program manage a broad range of reforms band work collaboratively across government (both State and Federal) and with key non-government stakeholders to implement changes to the blue card system.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a program of reform initiatives to ensure that the implementation of this work remains on track with agreed plans, schedules, budgets etc. and are wellpositioned to achieve their intended objectives and benefits.
- Establish, manage and maintain appropriate governance models (including internal and external stakeholders) to oversight the reform work.
- Establish, manage and maintain regular reporting and consultation frameworks on progress of the implementation of the reforms.
- Establish and maintain constructive relationships with relevant Blue Card Services management resources, delivery partners (e.g. Strategic Policy, Corporate Services etc.) as well as other government and non-government stakeholders.
- Lead any processes required to obtain approval for the implementation of recommendations including briefing the Attorney-General and any required Cabinet processes.
- Lead the development of policies and procedures required to support the implementation of review recommendations.
- Lead and direct project team resources in the preparation of submissions, briefs, ministerial and departmental correspondence for the Attorney-General and Director- General.
- Establish an evaluation strategy to inform any future review of the implementation of the recommendations.
- Lead and manage internal staff in accordance with Human Resource Management practices, including performance management and with particular reference to employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour, and
- Provide strategic advice to the Executive Director and DJAG Senior Executives in relation to the progress of projects.
