It’s an exciting time in the City of Subiaco with a major renaissance underway in our beautiful suburbs and town centre. Over the past few years, there have been a number of strategic shifts within our neighbourhoods, as well as organisational challenges, that we have transformed into opportunities to help re-establish Subiaco as a premier destination to work, shop, eat, drink, relax and explore.

In early 2023, the City will embark on its most difficult business transformation project – a complete overhaul of our systems and processes. To deliver on this promise, we are adding a new directorate that will be responsible for this project while embedding a continuous improvement ethos across the organisation to ensure our community have access to the best digital and human services, 24/7.

Major change requires clear direction and leaders with extraordinary people skills, working together. A deep understanding of the business will help you lead our people to deliver for our community, whilst maintaining good stakeholder relationships. The City of Subiaco service offering is unique for our size, facilitating opportunities to expand skills, knowledge and experience.

Director Development Services

Provide leadership, oversight and outcome management for the Directorate’s activities which include:

• Economic Development and Place
• Recreation
• Cultural Development

Suitable candidates for these key positions will have exceptional people skills and a mentoring management style with relevant qualifications and experience in a service-based organisation. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will assist the Chief Executive Officer with the strategic development and management of the City of Subiaco, including the interface between administration and elected members, the community and stakeholders. You will have proven ability to lead and implement corporate strategic planning initiatives that incorporate best practice, innovation and continuous improvement, especially in relation to financial systems, and flexible delivery of services across diverse portfolios. Your strong stakeholder relationship skills will enable positive liaison with key government agencies and organisations, facilitating further economic growth for the City.

All the above roles are permanent positions with attractive remuneration packages in the range of $216,000 to $240,000 including superannuation and unrestricted private use of a vehicle.
