About your Team:
Governance and Communication Branch is responsible for administering DHA’s overarching governance frameworks and leading internal and external communication, media management and brand.
The Communication and Media Team are trusted advisors to internal and external stakeholders on better practice communication and media management. The team are energetic and highly motivated to continuously improve delivery of internal and external communication strategies and media management in support of DHA’s Corporate Plan and underlying deliverables. This includes major programs of change, internal and external communication campaigns, and business as usual.
We are looking for passionate, experienced individuals who want to work with the business to drive change and improve understanding of key business initiatives. We want people who will work collaboratively with the business to get to a common outcome.
Your Contribution:
As the Director, Communication and Media, you are an influential and highly experienced communication leader. We are looking for a leader who can lead the communication and media team through a period of change. You will be
empowered to drive create and drive a new path forward with your influence and experience.
You will be required to:
Lead internal communication, external communication, media management and brand for DHA.
Set DHA’s communication and media strategy and lead the implementation of the agreed strategy.
Lead a function to design, implement and embed fit-for-purpose communication, media, brand, campaigns,
internet, intranet, events, sponsorship and all other content to support DHA's Corporate Plan
Build strong partnerships and nurture influence within and external to DHA with all stakeholders.
Implement and manage a strong culture of collaboration, productivity, customer service and delivery with senior stakeholders including all members of the Leadership Team.
Set targets, measure, report and continuously report on performance results across the function.
Manage, lead and mentor a team, setting work priorities, managing workflow, resources and systems to achieve outcomes.
Drive innovation, best practice and continuous improvement across DHA for communication and media.

This role is for a non-ongoing period of 18 months with a possibility of extension.
Order of merit – Any merit pools established from this merit-based process will be valid for 18 months from the date of advertising. This merit pool may be used throughout this period to fill similar positions in the event positions become vacant.
