About the organisation
The Victorian Government is responsible for issuing liquor licences and overseeing industry compliance and enforcement to ensure that Victorians and visitors to the state enjoy safe and responsible liquor licensed environments. To achieve this, Liquor Control Victoria (LCV) supports the independent Victorian Liquor Commission, performing regulatory functions for Victoria's liquor industry under delegation, including undertaking licensing, approval, authorisation and registration activities and supporting industry to comply with all laws and regulations, including detection and response to contraventions of the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998.
About the role
The Director Compliance in LCV is a member of the executive management team (EMT) responsible for a division that ensures industry compliance with liquor legislation. Conducting complex and sensitive inspections and investigation, the division minimises harms from liquor and promotes the development of responsible industries. Managing expert teams to provide strategic leadership and advice, the Director Compliance delivers consistent high-quality knowledge of investigations and inspections, risk and intelligence, system assurance and education programs.
About you
Your experience leading regulation or compliance in highly visible, accountable contexts is underpinned by your proven ability to shape system change, your deep understanding of risk-based practice and applied regulation. Presenting with balanced judgement, you are known for building teams and culture, in highly visible and sensitive contexts. Your ability to deliver is equal to your reputation for effective influencing and inspiring people leadership. Your excellent communication and stakeholder management skills sit comfortably with your attention to detail. Collaborative in style, you relish a challenge and the chance to shape the liquor control sector to achieve regulatory excellence.
