Role Outline
South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) delivers healthcare to one of the largest regions in NSW, with an estimated population of more than a million people, making up 12% of the population. The District covers both rural and suburban communities and manages six acute public hospitals – Fairfield, Bowral & District, Liverpool, Bankstown-Lidcombe, Camden and Campbelltown. SWSLHD also operates 14 major community health centres providing prevention, early intervention and community-based treatment, palliative care and rehabilitation services. They employ more than 16,000 people.
The Director, Digital Health leads, plans and directs the digital health strategy for the business. Advanced digital capability is critical to optimising the benefits of; the substantial capital redevelopment taking place; evolving technology enabled models of clinical care; and exploiting the rich data resources of the district.
You will provide vision, leadership and governance of the Digital Health strategy and architecture, ensuring alignment with the NSW Health ICT Strategy and industry practice. Provided with a large degree of autonomy within the overall decision making, accountability and delegation for all aspects of digital health you will in consultation with the Chief Executive, have operational responsibility for the ICT Services Department and the strategic assets managed by the department. The role provides the highest level of expert and professional management and advice on information management and technology issues and is individually accountable for the validity and quality of the advice. You will have the opportunity to significantly influence the future shape of information communication and technology through evaluation, consultation, and recommendation of new technologies and by the application of best practice in design and delivery of developments.

Please provide examples of your experience in leading complex portfolios, at an executive level, to effect positive change for patients and staff in a digital healthcare environment and a vision for digital health in SWSLHD.
- Describe your experience in leading and managing complex strategic ICT priorities across multiple organisations and stakeholders at all levels, including interactions with Chief Executives, Boards, and senior clinicians. How did you develop and manage relationships, balance expectations and enhance partnerships?
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or proven substantial equivalent experience in leadership and management of ICT strategy, systems and infrastructure development and service provision in a complex environment, including demonstrated experience in building, maintaining and operating reliable, highly available, customer focused, secure ICT services across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Extensive leadership and management experience with a record of achievement in digital / ICT program delivery and service delivery in a large and complex service environment, including proven skills in developing and managing relationships, customer perspectives and delivery partnerships across a wide and complex group of stakeholders.
