About The Opportunity
South Western Sydney Local Health District is recognised as a leading provider of education, training and organisational development initiatives to a health workforce of over 15,000 staff. Some broad portfolios include clinical and corporate education initiatives; flexible learning solutions and simulation based education; leadership and management development; talent development and succession planning; and future workforce initiatives. SWSLHD is a delivery site of the NSW Health Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and provides a wide range of nationally recognised vocational education and training qualifications. SWSLHD also works in partnership with various universities and education providers to deliver graduate certificate, diploma and masters programs.
Working closely with and reporting to the Executive Director, People & Culture for SWSLHD, the Director, Education & Organisational Development will be responsible for leading and driving the strategic planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of education and organisational development activities across SWSLHD. This influential position will work at the intersection of academic and workforce planning, and play a key role in the shape and capability of the future workforce for the LHD, and thus heavily impact the quality of patient services to the growing community. As the Director of the service, you will have overall responsibility of an annual budget of circa $7.4M, $1.2M revenue target and a current staff profile of 6 direct reports and 65 FTE working across 6 hospital facilities and community services.

Some broad portfolios include: clinical and corporate education initiatives including discipline specific, multidisciplinary and mandatory programs; flexible learning solutions and simulation based education; leadership and management development; talent development and succession planning; and future workforce initiatives.
SWSLHD is a delivery site of the NSW Health Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and provides a wide range of nationally recognised vocational education and training qualifications. SWSLHD also works in partnership with various universities and education providers to deliver graduate certificate, diploma and masters programs.
This senior leadership position is responsible for driving the strategic planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of education and organisational development activities across SWSLHD.
The Education and Organisational Development Service (EODS) currently includes a staff profile of 65 FTE (full time equivalents), who work across six hospital facilities and community services. The EODS has an annual budget of $7,476,000 and annual revenue target of $1,2000,000.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.
Tertiary qualifications in a related field (Education, Organisational Behavior, Organisational Development) and or relevant demonstrated work experience.
Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating education, inclusion and organisational development strategies for a large complex health service.
Demonstrated experience at a senior level in leading and shaping organisational culture change in a complex organisation.
Proven problem solving expertise in a challenging and dynamic environment, and an ability to deliver outcomes while managing simultaneous projects and a diverse portfolio.
Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills that enable the position holder to lead, influence, motivate and engage people at all levels.
Demonstrated superior leadership skills in driving and undertaking research, practice development, training and improvement activities.
Proven extensive capability in initiating and maintaining stakeholder relationships both internally and externally and representing the SWSLHD at local, state and national forums.
Established network in education and organisational development, with experience in contemporary practice and technological development opportunities.
