About the role
Role Location: Preferably Sydney, NSW however we are open to Melbourne for the right person.
Role Type: Permanent, Full Time
Your role as a Director within the Financial Institutions Transaction Banking team will be responsible for a diverse combination of direct sales and solutions, portfolio growth and people leadership. This role is specifically in the Banks segment of the Financials Institutions team which broadly covers Banks, Funds, Insurance and Diversified Financials.
It is an exciting period as the local market and wider payments industry goes through a period of change, industry development, and regulatory change. In the near term this evolution is coming to life through initiatives such as real-time payments and ISO20022 against a landscape of the traditional payments models being challenged by customer expectations and alternate providers. This is complimented by the strategic transformation of the payments industry through updated technology. Through this ANZ has continued to expand and develop our product offering in a business that is one of ANZ strategic priority areas. This role offers the opportunity to contribute across the product areas of ANZ’s Clearing Services, Agency Services and payments solutions, influencing and assisting our clients internationally and locally in Australia.
Role Accountabilities:
This role is accountable for:
- Banks solutions lead for a portfolio of foreign bank clients in the FI segment
- Direct people management of the frontline team who manage the portfolio
- Financial management of portfolio (though revenue, profitability and cross-sell)
- The ultimate objective of the role is to drive positive advocacy and generate buying decisions from clients. This is through working with key senior stakeholders externally and internally influencing product development and strategic roadmaps.
- The products for the Banks segment include Clearing Services/ Correspondent bank for our offshore clients, and for clients based in Australia includes Domestic Cash Management, Payment Services and Agency Services.
- You will have the opportunity to contribute to the wider FI and Transaction Banking segments both onshore and as part of our global team. This role works closely with our Product, Operations and Payments, Compliance, Legal, FIG coverage and Industry teams.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Experience and deep knowledge of Transaction Banking Sales and / or relationship management (preferably covering FI client segment with knowledge of Banks);
- Track record in delivering results and recognised for strong execution skills
- Ideally experience in Correspondent Banking, Payments & Cash Management and/ or Agency Services;
- While not a prerequisite, knowledge of the various FI client segments would be favourable;
- Ability to drive sales results for challenging clients in highly competitive markets;
- A team player with very strong communication skills
- Have a genuine interest in the evolution of payments, changing technology and opportunities for change in the payments landscape
- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders
