The Opportunity

Cochlear now has an opportunity for a Director Global Learning & Leadership Development reporting to the Vice President Global Talent Development based in our Global Headquarters in Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading strategy and design of global learning and leadership development, including governance, global policy, frameworks, technology, tools and programs and developing consistent and scalable approaches that can be deployed across the global organisation. This role is the global Process Lead and Product Owner for the processes supporting Learning & Development and Leadership Development.  This position will collaborate with a network of People & Culture professionals throughout Cochlear to deliver outcomes and have impact.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with People & Culture Executive Business Partners in the development of the people strategy and plan, across the enterprise and for each business unit
  • Develop a global strategy and design a consistent approach to employee up-skilling, for soft skills, technical/job-specific skills and product/industry related skills (in partnership with Professional Education Teams)
  • Ensure that there is a consistency in the learning technologies that are used globally and in instructional design principles and practices
  • Continue to develop Cochlear’s competency framework and ensure integration of the leadership framework with key talent management processes
  • Drive Manager Readiness initiatives across the globe to ensure our leaders are skilled and equipped for the future
  • Develop a globally consistent approach to coaching and mentoring and ensure that vendors and partners are aligned to our culture and values

About You. As we grow our operations, we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:

  • Degree in Learning, Organisation Design, Human Resources, Organisational Psychology or equivalent
  • Experience in developing and upskilling senior leadership teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence others to move toward a common vision or goal 
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organisation and build productive relationships
  • Strong analytic and decision-making abilities.
