The Role:

The principal objective for the Director of Physician Education (DPE), Northern Health, is to ensure that Basic Physician Training at Northern Health is conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians PREP program. The DPE will participate with the wider team to ensure Northern health is able to deliver a program of the highest standard at all levels of BPT training.  The DPE will work with the Program Manager Consortium Director and other DPE’s in all aspects of the program including contributing to the education program, supervision and recruitment of trainees as well as continuous improvement and program redesign.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A demonstrable active interest in medical education and experience in post-graduate Physician Education
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Clinical appointment within Northern Health

Qualifications & Registrations

  • Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Undergraduate medical qualification as a first degree is essential– MBBS, MD, PhD or equivalent
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).

All applicants must participate in the Credentialing and Scope of Practice process at Northern Health by completing the Credentialing and Scope of Clinical Practice application via the electronic credentialing system, CGov prior to interview.

Please note existing Northern Health Senior Medical Staff are not required to commence a new credentialing application.
