Moree Plains Shire Council is seeking a skilled and engaged Director Planning and Development to play a crucial role in shaping the future of planning and development in this thriving agricultural region. The State Government’s Special Activation Precinct is bringing billions of dollars’ worth of projects to the area across gas, agriculture, clean energy, and inland rail and the Director Planning and Development will play a key role in progressing these opportunities.
As the Director Planning and Development, you will report to the newly appointed General Manager and lead a motivated multidisciplinary team of 35 staff across Environmental, Planning, Building Control, Ranger, Noxious Weeds, Building and Maintenance services for Council.
Experience, Qualifications and Attributes
- Experience in a position of a similar size and scope to this role with an engaged and energised leadership style including detailed knowledge of the NSW Planning System.
- Proven experience in engaging key stakeholder groups to deliver customer-focused outcomes.
- Experience leading a high performance, multidisciplinary team to achieve organisational goals.
- Qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning, Social Sciences, Human Services, Business Administration, Local Government or similar.
