Tweed Shire Council is seeking a skilled and dynamic Director Planning and Regulation to play a crucial role in shaping the future of planning and development in this vibrant region. Nestled along the NSW Coast with close proximity to the renowned tourism hotspots of Byron Bay and the Gold Coast, the picturesque region boasts a diverse blend of urban, rural and coastal lifestyles.
As the Director Planning and Regulation, you will be at the forefront of strategic decision making, directly influencing the region’s planning and development, and providing independent and apolitical advice to Council. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will lead a motivated and technically skilled team of 95 staff who are based at Murwillumbah and who are responsible for strategic planning, development assessment, development engineering, building certification and compliance, environmental health and enforcement matters.
Skills and Qualifications
- Detailed knowledge of the NSW Planning System
- Experience leading a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Tertiary qualifications in Planning or a related field
