Join The National Security Science and Technology Centre (NSSTC) in DSTG to help us deliver the National Security Program at a critical time for Australia where whole of government approaches will be critical to achieving our strategic objectives.

We are looking for a talented individual with strong multi-stakeholder coordination experience and a passion for bringing people together to solve complex problems.

This exciting role involves ensuring our relationships are founded on trust and shared purpose, through building and maintaining connections, coordinating NSSTC stakeholder engagements, and facilitating formal governance mechanisms for the NSSTC and our stakeholders.

In this role, you will contribute to a culture of inclusion and partnering that underpins our More Together: Defence Science and Technology Strategy.

As the Director Program Coordination and Governance, you will:

· Develop and manage a yearly program, project and relationship management schedule to support effective engagement, team coordination and prioritisation.

· Support the Program Leader and team through managing and evolving stakeholder coordination and communications internal and external to Defence.

· Lead the coordination of NSSTC senior committee engagements.

· Lead NSSTC contributions to complex briefs, reports and short notice tasks for senior level stakeholders.

· Manage and evolve internal and external governance arrangements, including monitoring, in order to achieve focus, scale and impact for the National Security Program.

· Contribute to the development of the NSSTC strategy, as well as proactively shaping wider stakeholder policy and strategy efforts.

· Serve as a facilitator of key stakeholder engagements, and work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders to support delivery of S&T value.

· Subject to the NSSTC structure, supervise and mentor staff to promote an inclusive culture that values staff, partnering, agility and team work.

Candidates will have the opportunity to commence with a lower security clearance, however, will need to be able to obtain and maintain a Positive Vetting Security Clearance following commencement.

About our Team
The National Security Science and Technology Centre (NSSTC):

· Coordinates whole of government national security science and technology, to prioritise requirements, provide governance, reduce duplication, deliver science and technology assurance and improve impact.

· Assures delivery of science and technology value by fostering academic and industry science and technology partnerships to build national science and technology capability and enhance targeted delivery to Australian national security agencies.

· Leads the establishment and management of international research collaborations that support researchers in leveraging state of the art capabilities for Australia and to provide regional science diplomacy.

· Manage DSTG's national security science and technology program, maximising dual-use application of Defence industry, academic and DSTG sovereign capabilities.
