The Role
Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor Finance and Chief Operating Officer, the Director, Strategic Program Management is responsible for strategy, planning and operational readiness of all projects executed by the University. More specifically you will:
- Set and maintaining standards for program and project management throughout the University.
- Develop and implement the program and project framework that delivers an end-to-end solution inclusive of ongoing business improvement.
- In consultation with the leadership team, validate plans and schedule program and project work in alignment with the University’s strategy, planning, and investment cycles.
- Engage with all stakeholders to facilitate and prioritise competing business requirements while managing stakeholder expectations.
- Manage programs and projects across the business, understand and communicate the big picture to identify dependencies and operational implications.
- Create and maintain procedures and best practices in delivering programs and projects.
- Report on progress of program milestones and key metrics; prepare updates for leadership and the Board.
- Advise on strategic and operational matters relating to The Program Management Office.
- Providing leadership and management of the functional teams and ensuring a high level of service quality and the continuous improvement of performance, systems and reporting.
Your Capability
To be successful in this role you will have extensive relevant experience and expertise in the provision of strategic advice affecting the direction of a complex organisation. Your ability to manage and lead multiple large scale project/ programs of work combined with your proficiency to bring Senior Leaders and other along a journey to ensure projects get delivered on-time within budget and achieving great outcomes for your business will see you succeed in this role.
