about the Disability Advisory Group Pilot Project Officer role
This is exciting opportunity to work for a community legal centre that has a strong history of promoting inclusion and diversity. This work was recognised by the ACT Government in 2019 when CCL was awarded the Chief Minister’s Inclusion Award for championing social inclusion in the delivery of accessible and responsive legal services.
This position will assist CCL in researching, scoping, and establishing a Disability Advisory Group. The Disability Advisory Group will comprise people from diverse backgrounds with a range of disabilities to provide expert advice and input into CCL’s work.
This position would suit a person with a strong interest and experience in the disability field and/or qualifications in disability, social sciences, or law.
The position will have these components:
- Researching advisory group models and making recommendations to CCL;
- Establishing the governing processes and framework for the Disability Advisory Group;
- Managing the recruitment process for Disability Advisory Group members; and
- Ensuring CCL is equipped with the necessary resources to oversee the Disability Advisory Group.
People with lived experience of disability including being a person with disability, a supporter of people with disability or having significant experience in understanding issues experienced by people with disability are encouraged to apply.
