About the role
Yooralla has vacancies in St Albans for positive, passionate people with effective communication skills to join our team as a permanent part-time DSW. This rewarding role will provide direct support to adults with disability in mostly in their homes and occasionally in the community. Your working days will be varied and may involve:
providing assistance with daily living including meal preparation, personal hygiene and mobility
supporting people to travel to (and during) appointments or events
supporting people to enjoy recreation and social activities, and
supporting people to participate in life skills programs.
About You
Relevant qualifications, experience or an interest in community services would be great if you have them! However, most importantly, you’ll need a great attitude and a willingness to learn. To be successful in this role you’ll share Yooralla’s values and have:
initiative, self-motivation and a positive approach
a willingness to demonstrate a commitment to empowering our customers to reach their goals, and to upholding quality and safeguards in your everyday work
clear and effective communication skills, and a good level of English literacy to communicate well with our customers
ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team
the right to work in Australia
a Victorian driver’s licence, and
a current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary certificate (or obtain one).
A Certificate IV in disability would be highly desirable.
Candidates will be subject to NDIS Worker Screening and must comply with other checks including an English literacy test.
