Using your excellent communication skills to build strong relationships with our clients and stakeholders, you will work alongside the people you support to lift them up and achieve their goals and aspirations. Your experience in the sector will enable you to ensure adherence to all compliance requirements and work with your Team leader in providing the highest standard of care to the people we are here for.

About the role

We are looking for team members for our supported independent living arrangements in Toowoomba to provide 24/7 support in the home and out in the community. The role includes sleepover/active night shifts on a 24/7 roster.

The support worker role and responsibilities will include

• Supporting people with day-to-day activities in the home and out in the community
• Providing positive behavior support to our clients by implementing PBS strategies
• Completing appropriate documentation and reporting such as shift notes, incident reporting and data collection
• Contribute to the team’s overall objective in providing the best outcomes for our clients
• Work with your Team leader to implement and review plans around daily service provision
• Above all, be responsive, reliable and accountable to our clients and your team

Qualification/Experience:

• Experienced working with people living with complex mental health
• Skilled in working with people who have experienced trauma (highly desirable)
• Minimum 2 years experience in the disability/mental health sector that support clients with complex needs
• Tertiary qualifications in Mental health, Disability, Community services sector or similar fields preferred
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills

Salary: $29.00 – $37.00 per hour
