As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide the support and encouragement for individuals to build their skills to live independently and make their own lifestyle choices. Your support will result in them leading meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Essential requirements for this role include:
- At least six months paid experience as a disability support worker, AIN or similar
- Experience working with children and young people
- Minimum Certificate III in Disability, Aged Care, Individual Support
- An understanding of restrictive practice
- Experience administering medication
- Experience providing personal care
- Proven ability to work as a part of a close-knit team
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Experience driving a people mover/minibus
- Training and experience in PEG feeding
- Manual Handling Training
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention / Behaviour Management Training
- NDIS Worker Check
- Working With Children Check
- National Criminal History check
- Full NSW Drivers License
- Two professional references
- First aid and CPR certs
- Covid vaccinations including booster
