The opportunity
We are offering a fully funded traineeship in a Certificate III Individual Support where you combine education while learning practical on the job skills. Perhaps you are looking at changing careers or returning to work after raising a family, this is your opportunity. With access to a dedicated trainer to support you through the online components of the course, you will also be given six hours paid study time per fortnight. We will provide you with the real skills and experience needed to succeed when first starting your career in this industry. This is a part time traineeship, 57 hours per fortnight (plus six hours study) and will be for a fixed term of 12-18 months (opportunity for ongoing permanent employment).
The roster (rotating, plus 6 hours study time):
Week One: Thursdays 1430 - 2230 + Sleepover, Saturdays 0630 - 1330 and Sundays 1430 - 2330
Week Two: Thursdays 1430 - 2330, Fridays 1430 - 2230, Saturdays 1430-2230 and Sundays 1430 - 2230 + Sleepover
The role:
We help people with disability become more independent, in their own homes and the community.
- Active support: develop personal interests, provide personal care, transportation and coach independent living skills
- Health support: administer and document medication and follow health support plans
- Positive behaviour support: manage behaviour triggers and escalation
- Safeguarding: ensure safety of you and the participant, documentation and reports
About you
- Demonstrated motivation to work with people with disability
- Available to fulfill a rotating roster including weekends and overnights
- NDIS Worker Check
- National Police Check
- Driver’s license
- First aid certificate
- Up to date Covid vaccinations
