This position is located at the Brolga Unit which is part of Hornsby Hospital.
What you'll be doing
The Diversional Therapist provides care coordination, group and individual interventions, using principles of recovery oriented practice, bio-psychosocial and rehabilitation to consumers.
The Diversional Therapist works as part of the multidisciplinary team, sharing generic work and offering discipline specific interventions.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

- Bachelor or post graduate degree of health science or applied science in leisure, recreation or diversional therapy and eligibility for membership with Diversional and Recreation Therapy Australia.
- Demonstrated well developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to participation in professional development, quality improvement activities and workplace education.
- Demonstrate skills and knowledge in the provision of a recreation service to consumers, carers and families requiring health education, leisure services and bio-psychosocial interventions.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).
- Proven ability to exercise professional judgement commensurate with years of experience and to establish effectively collaboratively working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team and inter-agency networks.
