This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Domestic and Family Violence Practitioner to take on a position delivering court assistance services, risk and safety interventions, short term counselling and advocacy to clients presenting with vulnerabilities and from disadvantaged families at court, from our offices and outreach locations.
In this role you will:

  • Attend Brisbane Magistrates Court and provide first contact and court assistance to people experiencing or using Domestic and Family Violence.
  • Provide high-quality and trauma-informed crisis counselling, risk assessment, safety planning, information advocacy and referrals to external support services for persons who experience and use Domestic and Family Violence to prevent family and domestic violence experiences.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external Domestic and Family Violence workers, mental health support workers, lawyers and litigation support officers to best support clients presenting with complex and intersecting needs and vulnerabilities and enhance their safety and access to justice in Domestic and Family Violence matters.
