Domestic Services Attendant

Full Time

Who are we?

Wintringham provides aged care services to those who are financially disadvantaged and have previously been homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless. We employ over 900 staff and our Williamstown Hostel located close to Melbourne’s CBD offers affordable, high quality accommodation to 60 men and women aged 50 years and over. We provide a safe, flexible and caring family-style environment, which allows residents to maintain their chosen lifestyles, habits and activities and to be as independent as they choose to be.

Your new role

Wintringham is currently seeking an experienced and proactive individual to join our tight-knit and friendly Domestic Services team at Williamstown Hostel on a full time basis. As a Domestic Services Assistant, you’ll be working across our cleaning and laundry teams.

Your shifts will be:

Week 1 – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 0730 - 1430

Week 2 – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday 0730 - 1430

Your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • To clean resident rooms, common areas, office spaces, cleaners and staff room as scheduled
  • To replenish & maintain stock levels
  • Cleaning & Laundry duties as per schedule
  • To ensure provision of clean laundry throughout the home at all times
  • Assist the Food Services team with delivery and serving of food and drinks as scheduled

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Previous experience in a cleaning/laundry role – preferably in Aged Care/Health Care
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • A non-judgmental approach to working with people
  • Qualifications and experience in food handling, infection control, manual handling and the use of cleaning chemicals (highly advantageous)
  • Food Safety Certificate and Food Handlers Certificate (highly advantageous)
  • Physically able to perform manual tasks including (but not limited to) bending & lifting

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Records check. Refusal to provide your information to both of these parties will prevent Wintringham from being able to continue with your application.

Applicants who have lived in a country other than Australia for a period longer than 12 months in the last 10 years may be required to undergo an International Police Check.

Successful candidates will be required to show evidence of having three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine as well as a 2022 influenza vaccine prior to commencing employment with Wintringham.
