The Position

If you are interested in a once-in-a-lifetime job in the sports industry, this is your chance. We are looking for someone to lead and strengthen the team in charge of organizing the biggest women's sporting event in the world: the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023.

To ensure the successful operational delivery of the ninth edition of this competition, we have set up a Local FIFA Subsidiary (LFS). Its aim is to improve the experience of over 1.1 billion people watching the FIFA Women's World Cup, by delivering innovative solutions across all operational areas.

Job responsibilities

Working closely with the Dressing & Signage Venue Manager - Australia, you will be assigned to a competition venue and oversee the dressing and signage operations in the lead-up to, during and in the dismantling phase of the FWWC2023. This role will be responsible for managing all internal and external stakeholder relationships within their assigned venue including with FIFA functional areas, contracted providers, host country parties and official site management. The goal is to ensure a flawless delivery of the Dressing and Signage Programme for the FWWC2023TM.

Job duties
Your role as Dressing & Signage Venue Manager includes the following responsibilities:

Dressing & Signage
  • Ensuring that all elements of the FWWC2023TM event dressing and signage for the assigned venue are produced and implemented to the highest possible standard and according to FIFA Brand and Commercial Affiliate Guidelines
  • Overseeing the delivery and installation of materials in collaboration with the FWWC2023 Dressing and Signage department and ensuring this is implemented to agreed formats and schedules across defined venue(s)
  • Manage on-site relationship with the contracted Dressing and Signage provider for the FWWC2023TM
  • Collaborate closely with the FWWC2023 Dressing and Signage Manager to ensure the Host City team and their operations outside of the site perimeter are fit-for-purpose and integrated successfully into the overall site delivery
  • Capture and deliver all wayfinding signage needs for the assigned venue, ensuring that signage meets the needs of all target groups
  • Handle and file requests from other Functional Areas and Projects assigned to the venue for additional dressing and signage needs or information
  • Advise FWWC2023 Dressing and Signage Manager on additional needs and instruct installation provider to provide all technical information as required
  • Advise on design requirements for any additional inventory ordered
  • Overseeing the dismantling process for the venue, recording any damages as require and ensuring it is completed safely and to the required regulations and standards
Project Management and Co-ordination
  • Representing FIFA Stadium & Infrastructure Management within the Host City and taking the lead on specific projects within dressing & signage when required. Attend all venue daily meetings
  • Act as point of contact for any Dressing and Signage queries from Venue, FIFA or FWWC2023 staff
  • Manage the provision of documentation for defined venue(s) and secondary venues such as training sites, is completed and provided by the contracted providers within the agreed timeframes
  • Ensure all simultaneous installation activities for the pre-event and setup tournament periods run to schedule
  • Feed into the overall delivery schedule, ensuring that operations are implemented to a timetable required to satisfy all dressing and signage needs for the project
  • Support the Senior Dressing and Signage Manager (FIFA Zurich) and Dressing and Signage Managers (Local FIFA Local Subsidiary) with day-to-day tasks as required.
Quality Control
  • Assist in the completion of FWWC2023™ readiness reporting and action plans according to schedule; addressing and escalating any issues thereon
  • Contribute to the oversight of delivery from providers, helping to ensure that their implemented services meet the requirements and exceptional standards of the FWWC2023 project

The specific competencies we require for this position are:

Qualifications and experience
  • A minimum of 2 years in an event operations role ideally in a Dressing, Signage or Branding role in major temporary events or other complex environments
  • Understanding of signage production and installation processes
  • Experience in wayfinding signage implementation in events
  • Key experience in Project and Brand Management
  • Be familiar with managing one or several suppliers concurrently
  • Experience with online collaboration tools
  • Strong and dynamic interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to maintain focus in a high pressure and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to live in the host city of the role; Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth.
WHO WE ARE

The FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 Local Entity was established after the two host countries were awarded the hosting rights to the world's biggest women's sporting event in June 2020.

The Entity, with offices in Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau and Sydney/Gadigal, is tasked with delivering the tournament for 32 teams (up from 24 in 2019) in nine stadiums across 10 host cities in New Zealand and Australia from 20 July to 20 August 2023.

The first FIFA Women's World Cup to be hosted by two confederations (Asia and Oceania), and the first in the Southern Hemisphere, will not only take players and fans 'Beyond Greatness' but will radically move the dial for gender equality.

FWWC2023 is building a workforce that reflects the vibrant communities at the heart of football.
