About the role
This opportunity is for Victorian Qualified Drivers only. Candidates must have a minimum 2 years of Victorian Train Driving experience in order to be considered.
V/Line Train Drivers are integral to the success of our Train Services Group. Joining our team of qualified and highly skilled Drivers, this is your opportunity to work throughout our beautiful state, delivering safe and reliable journeys.
Enjoy variety in your role operating all vehicles in fleet and communicating regularly with the broader team and control centres. As a contributor to V/Line's reputation in safety and service, you'll uphold operating rules and procedures and commitment to maintaining their knowledge of policies, and the OH&S and Rail Safety Acts.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Safe & reliable operation of passenger service trains across Victoria which includes working as part of a team, liaising with Operations staff across the network & building strong working relationships.
- Caring for our customers & community, using a safety-first approach to decision making, minimising the impact of disruptions & reporting hazards.
- Contribute to a work environment that provides for the safety & well-being of staff, rolling stock & infrastructure.
- Commitment to the full training term including working away from home to complete practical training at regional 'home depots'.
- Successfully complete training modules within specified timeframes & contributing to a culture of learning & knowledge sharing.
- The ability to work shift work on a rotating roster 365 day per year & working from regional 'home depots' as rostered.
About you
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Train drivers with a minimum of two years train driving experience (post qualification) in Victoria and a great driving record.
- You hold a Certificate IV in Train Driving or Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics.
- You have a valid Victorian Driver's License and a Working with Children's Check (or willing to obtain).
- You understand the importance of providing a timely and safe service.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019.
