What you'll do
- As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will deliver an innovative, high quality and inclusive early childhood program for children that reflects current theory, practice and the values and philosophies of SDN and ensure positive outcomes for all children.
- You will lead the room and be responsible for the overall room management, including the children, program, WHS and identifying and supporting staff development through individual and team assessments.
- You will be supported by a highly experienced Centre Director, join a stable team of experienced and passionate educators, and support from a team of Practice Leaders in Shared Services.

SDN Surry Hills provides quality early childhood education and child care for 60 children per day in Sydney's vibrant inner east community.
The centre first opened its doors in 1918, and has been a place of warmth and welcome ever since. Knowing and being active in the local community is important to our team and we pride ourselves on the connections we have made and maintained over the years, all the while watching the local area transform into the vibrant, creative and colourful place it is today.
Relationships with children, families and one another are the basis of our educational program and we know children need to feel safe and welcomed to reach their full potential. Who you are
- University qualifications in Early Childhood Education and registration with NESA
- Current Working with Children Check (NSW)
- Current Working with Children's Check (NSW)
- Knowledge of the National Quality Standards & Early Years Learning Framework
- Experience in leading and guiding practice of other Educators
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates (preferable)
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Understanding of Child Protection legislation, including an approved & current Child Protection Training qualification
- Understanding of the development of children, their health, hygiene and nutritional needs
